Sacred Heart Elementary School
Sacred Heart Elementary School is a an educational mission of Sacred Heart Parish. It was founded in 1843 by the first parish pastor, the Reverend Bernard Ferris. Initially staffed by lay teachers, the growth of the school required a larger faculty. The Sisters of Charity of Seton Hill have staffed the school, in part, for more than 140 years.
As a Catholic school, our primary purpose is to form students in the values of Jesus Christ and the teachings of the Catholic Church. Catholic schools are distinctive religious education institutions operated as programs of the Catholic Church; they are not private schools but are administered and supported by the sponsoring parishes and the diocese.
