East End Cooperative Ministry (EECM)

Sacred Heart volunteers join with other congregations in community ministry at EECM in the East End of Pittsburgh to aid the hungry, homeless, elderly, home-bound, youth and families in need. Sacred Heart is a founding congregation of the EECM!

Help support the local needy with your donations!  Baskets are placed at the entryways of the church for anyone wishing to donate non-perishable food items.

Each year, East End Cooperative Ministry sends graduates of their Children & Youth programs off to college. For many of their families, even a set of sheets and towels is a major expense. While there are scholarships and grants for tuition and books, there aren’t any for basic school and dorm supplies. EECM asks its member congregations to provide these items for the students. Here at Sacred Heart, we’d like to get enough supplies to support one young woman on her adventure off to school.  Please see the attached flier, or pick one up in the July 30th bulletin, for a complete list of needed items.  Tags will be available at all Masses August 5th and 6th. Drop off for collected supplies is August 12th and 13th.
